One of the most exciting things I know is to have the privilege to be present at the moment when something new is born…

Some weeks ago, my collegue and friend Ali Afshari took the initiative to start putting together a Swedish version of the fabulous international biking tour and unconference Cycling for Libraries (created by the Finnish social entrepreneurs Mace Ojala and Jukka Pennanen) Ali asked me to help him with the digital stuff and hey how could I say no to that? Biking, library lovers and social media in one package, that’s simply irresistable! 🙂 So, here we are, putting together one of the most exciting projects this year: Cycling for Libraries Sweden a biking tour from Stockholm to Library Days in Örebro! A lot of background work is being done by Ali who is an incredibly inspiring doer and networker in the library business. Recently we launched the project website together with a mix of social media satellites on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare. And last but not least: new sponsors are pouring in, yay! In sum: a really good start of a meaningful project that I’m really happy and proud to be part of.

Biking from Stockholm to Örebro in May will be a perfect warming up for the big international Cycling for Libraries starting in Amsterdam and ending in Brussels at the end of June. Biking for a good cause and with good friends is addictive, I can assure you! 🙂

Sign up here for the Stockholm-Örebro tour and here for the Amsterdam-Brussels tour. Start training and meet you on both tours this spring/summer! 🙂
